In response to queries I regret I am NOT able to recommend the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Indeed I would strongly recommend enquiries NOT to enquire of this organisation, if only because less than around 20% of the BACP's listed members are accredited with verified qualifications. At the time of publishing this webpage it is also a sad fact that the BACP have failed to update their disciplinary processes to adhere to new law passed earlier this year, and it is alleged, continue to operate in breech of this new law. At present it is possible to ring the BACP, request forms, fill out personal details, send a cheque and get insured with the BACP block policy for counselling practice without ever showing a single item of evidence of training, skills or ability.

Hot off the press - over 80% of UK Hypnotherapists are now covered by a new Alliance between the General Hypnotherapy Council and the UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations. This breakthrough is a great step forward in standards and client protection. All such registered therapists are monitored, insured, qualified and subscribe to codes of conduct and ethics. Ask YOUR therapist whether they are covered!
